Power facilities under attack in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have come under escalating attacks in recent weeks

Overnight, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused power cuts in multiple districts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were wounded while residents in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and dealt with disruption to drinking water, per reports from local authorities.

Russian forces has increased strikes on power infrastructure over recent weeks, while officials has requested "concrete actions" from international partners to apply pressure on Russia.

"The necessity is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the United States, Europe and the Group of Seven - in providing defensive weapons and applying restrictions," mentioned in a public message.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and more than 30 projectiles attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, characterizing such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

Government representatives said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were striving to repair systems.
